Hello Dan....I been a follower of yours for quite some time....the video you previously broad cast using the Acrylic panel I was going to modify using 8N finished stainless steel sheeting. The cost of the stainless is rather expensive, but with my calculations .....I should be able to collect approximately 9,000 BTU from a 4 x 8 sheet using? a parabolic curve with a 34 inch focal point. I would be very interested in where and how much it cost for your mirror coated material

These steel mirrors? would be useful for us astronomers! Because of the strong reflective surface it can be great for astronomy.

COOL !? Nice metal mirror. I like your stand too. It reminds me of the small gyms mirror from my old high school. It was made from some un-breakable material. We found out later that it was simply polished stainless steel. Is yours magnet attactive ? Could be stainless - there's a lot of different alloys of stainless out there.

The only problem I have with the reflectivity comparison is that? the acrylic mirrors have been out in the WEATHER for some time and the metal mirror is fresh and clean.

Acrylic has a bad tendency to splinter. I am not sure if splinter is the correct word but it separates into different layers when heated and cooled. It also bubbles and separates under the same conditions. There was a car built here in Canada called a Bricklin SV-1 that had acrylic body parts and they suffered from this same form? of separation when under heating and cooling.
