@tenvolt I read it. I? understand why ppl think if its comes from the web it must be true. There is a lot of misinformation even on the Nasa website. My version of the story came out during the investigation which I was part of back in the 80's. The so called facts have changed many times over in the last 20 yrs.

@amgen52 Look up Roger Boisjoly's obituary? in the LA Times, he did warn both his own company and NASA, they ignored his warnings (and those of others).

@zacharycat No scientist warned about anything. Roger Boisjoly was an engineer who helped design the booster joint which included the o-ring. Taking in data from previous shuttle launches, he thought there could be issues launching? in colder weather because the joint design was already in question based on prior performance. He argued with his Mgt. about launching but his mgt. gave the ok to Nasa to launch. Nasa knew nothing about the in house debate until after the launch.

Roger Boisjoly warned about this countless times and yet he was completely ignored and he even lost his job after this, cause he didnt kept his mouth shut about the mistakes that NASA made.... I hope that those who ignored him will carry the guilt? in their hearts for the rest of their lives
